We had the pleasure of sitting down with Noelle Miller, an abstract artist based in Colorado, to discuss her exhibition at RemainReal Fine Art, which started on July 5th and runs through July 28th. Noelle’s work is a stunning blend of mixed media, meticulous detail, and a deep sense of mindfulness. Her latest series, “Let It Fall,” promises to captivate and inspire viewers, inviting them into her intricate and layered artistic world.
The Artistic Process
Noelle describes her process as a practice in mindfulness. “I do two main types of art. One is 2D painting with mixed media, and the other I call 3-dimensional painting, where I paint on paper, cut it, rebuild it, put new elements on top, and weave them together,” she explains. Her approach is fluid and intuitive, starting with a watery base that she meticulously builds upon.
“The whole point of painting for me is a practice in mindfulness,” Noelle says. “A lot of my work has really tedious elements, a lot of small pieces put together. That for me is what helps me quiet my mind and what helps me relax. It's really a regenerative kind of practice.” She hopes that this sense of calm and presence is something viewers can experience when they engage with her work. “There are a lot of different layers for them to look at and a lot of pieces for them to put together. I hope it helps them slow down and be really present in the moment.”
Exploring New Dimensions
In “Let It Fall,” Noelle is pushing her boundaries and experimenting with new elements.
“For a lot of pieces in the show, I’m exploring mixed media and some new elements that I haven’t fully done yet,” she shares. One of these new ventures includes creating three-dimensional mounted light sculptures. “I have some laser-cut painted resin and I’ll be building more shapes within these shapes with rice paper and mylar. These will be mounted onto wooden boxes and there will be lights behind it to create custom light sculptures.”
Noelle’s willingness to leave aspects of her work to chance adds a dynamic layer to her art. “This series is different because there’s a lot of intricate patterns being used. That’s what the whole premise of my show is based off of. The title, “Let It Fall,” is all about trying to release some control, which is something I struggle with.”

Final Thoughts
As Noelle prepared for her exhibition at the art gallery in Denver, CO, she reflected on the journey and the evolution of her work. “The challenge is to never be literal but to capture the essence and emotion of what is trying to be uncovered," she said. With “Let It Fall,” Noelle invites us all to step into her world, slow down, and appreciate the beauty of the present moment.
