Resident Artists

Kevin Phillips
"My work explores the blurred boundaries between the physical and the intangible, often using flowing fabric, liquid-like textures, and ethereal portraits to evoke ideas of transformation, technology, and emotion. I’m fascinated by how perception shifts when parts of a figure are obscured, abstracted, or seemingly dissolving into another form. Whether it's a face rising from metallic liquid, a woman turning into light, or a portrait obscured by a black hole's event horizon, I’m always chasing that moment where the familiar tips into the unknown."

Antoinette Peshek
Yarn saved my life, and I speak it as my native tongue. During a difficult childhood, I found peace and escaped through a hook or needle and skein. Over the course of some decades and an eclectic collection of careers, the yarn kept me from disappearing completely into the darkness. In 2022, I began creating artworks that place surreal and macabre motifs in dreamy landscapes, engaging the viewer through texture, intricate detail, and vivid color.
Inspired by historical and contemporary surrealists and fiber artists such as Sheila Hicks and Danielle Clough, I am continuously developing experimental and innovative fiber and mixed media techniques to serve the deeply personal themes of my work — trauma and recovery, queerness, existentialism, and resistance, but above all the joy of being alive and able to play with yarn and with art in this moment.

Sarah Starling
Sarah is a Denver-based artist originally from the Chicagoland area. She received a Bachelor’s of Fine Art with an emphasis in painting from Carthage College in 2011 and continued experimenting with encaustic paints in her art creations.

Katy Jones
I combine beautiful and uncanny elements in my paintings to try and capture the tantalizing, terrifying nature of intimacy. I make art that's pretty enough that it makes it difficult to look away from some of the more unnerving elements in the piece. I'm a big believer in the idea that discomfort is a catalyst for growth and I lean into that.

Victoria Rosales
As someone who has always felt like they don't fit in, I treasured dejected, unsavory, and unconventional objects. I find great comfort in the abandoned tire on the side of the road, the ticket stub from a film that I viewed with a dear friend, or a bottle cap that has been tossed away once its purpose had been served. These items - the feelings and circumstances around them - may be overlooked by some. However, I see potential in them. I have made it my mission to give them meaning, to place them on the pedestal that they deserve.

I use meticulous micron pen drawings in the majority of my work, as it is the most essential tool in conveying my narrative of fabrication. The drawings are then either coupled with text, textiles, collage, or other found objects to incorporate both physical and metaphorical layers. By utilizing the viewer's familiarity of these objects and taking them of out context, I hope to challenge them in determining how these aspects of my work shape their own identity, thoughts, and perception of the world.

Lauren Wholey
Through oil painting and drawing, I preserve memories. I aim to provide a complete sensory experience through something the viewer can only look at. I paint quickly to produce a fluidity that captures movement and the interactions of subjects. My paintings often present a realistic face, but when given a second look that are odd and dreamlike. I want to push the viewer to a feeling of subtle recognition, something like dejavú. Something they might remember from a dream. Through my work I process things in life I have a hard time understanding: dreams that repeat and stick with me, images from my past, fears I can't quite name. Through my paintings, I invite the viewer into my dreamworld where distortion and mystery run wild.

Victor Prieto
There’s a thin veil between the beautiful and the strange. It’s an enticing place to be, the combination of beauty and oddness. This is the realm in which Victor Prieto (he/they) finds himself existing in and the world that is reflected in their art. The pieces displayed range in the concepts that Victor frequently touches on, highlighting an exploration over time of both their work and himself. Growing up caught between the expectations placed upon them and the oddity of their true self, it’s impossible to detangle these core concepts from Victor’s work.
A recent graduate of CU Boulder with a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Art practices, Victor aims to create pieces that intrigue the viewer into wondering more. In their current practice, they frequently use gouache, oils, inks, and have begun to integrate 3D aspects into their paintings and drawings.

Eunice Draw
Our resident artist Eunice Draw is a collage/assemblage/upcycle artist creating sustainably with materials sourced used from Recreative, local thrift stores, buy-nothing groups and Facebook Marketplace, as well as broken, trash-destined, and discarded ground objects.

Michelle Lopez
I create whimsical, illustrative works that invite viewers into playful, dreamlike worlds. Using acrylics, watercolors, India ink, and pencil on wood and paper, I build layered scenes that blend the natural with the surreal.
Curious creatures and anthropomorphic animals appear alongside women in vintage dive suits or astronaut figures — quiet explorers drifting through imagined environments.
Rooted in storytelling and inspired by the joy of illustration, my work aims to spark wonder, warmth, and the feeling of stepping into a quiet daydream.

Each piece emerges like a whispered secret or a relic unearthed, blurring the line between comfort and unease. Rooted in craft but driven by curiosity, her art explores texture, time, and the quiet power of handmade objects.

Jamie Eileen

Jamie aims to show the world more colorful, curvy bodies and help you think about having more open, honest conversations about sexual health with the people in your life. Cheers to safe sex, the freedom to express your identity, and more erotica in the world! Enjoy her creations.

Dylan Montanio
Born and raised to a creative family in Colorado, but spent my childhood living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In Santa Fe I gained an appreciation of southwestern art and culture. I always loved looking into the mountains on a drive and seeing old homesteads dilapidated up on the slopes. Imagining the stories the land could tell if it had a voice.
I pursued art and music while working in the culinary industry having showings at galleries in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins until 2012. I spent the next eleven years as an executive chef pushing my creativity through a different medium.
In 2023 I lost several friends and my long time canine companion (and best friend) and decided to fully pursue art again. I had that realization that life is too short to be afraid of following your dreams. I don’t like the phrase though. I say make big goals and climb that ladder with a million smaller ones. I live in Colorado springs with my, daughters, and two puppies
